Hannah Einbinder jokes she hopes Ed Sheeran gets a “really bad sun burn” after Macklemore controversy

Hannah Einbinder has taken a playful swipe at Ed Sheeran in an Instagram Story, joking that she hopes he gets a “REALLY bad sun burn” on top of a post about his reported net worth.
The 31-year-old actor and comedian, known for playing Ava Daniels in Hacks, shared the message as controversy mounts regarding the removal of American rapper Macklemore from Sheeran’s “Loop” tour after he spoke in support of Palestine during two performances in New Jersey in early September.
“Ed Sheeran i say this as a ginger. i hope you get a REALLY bad sun burn the kind on the back of your entire body where it hurts to lie down or walk or sit,” Einbinder wrote.

Sheeran kicked off his “Loop” tour in January to support his album Play.

Einbinder’s post has also been circulating amid wider conversation about Sheeran’s US tour dates and the recent removal of rapper Macklemore from the US leg.
Earlier this month, Macklemore took to the stage as Ed Sheeran’s opening act at MetLife Stadium on 5 September, prompting a fresh round of celebrity reactions, including comments from Boy George and Paloma Faith.
During Macklemore’s performances for Sheeran at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 4 and 5 September, he sang “Hind’s Hall” and lead chants of “Free Palestine” to images of Gaza.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft later banned Macklemore from appearing with Sheeran at Gillette Stadium on 25 and 26 September, saying the venue would not provide a platform for “hate speech”. Tour promoter Messina Touring Group told Rolling Stone that they received communications from venues stating they refused to host Macklemore, “which would result in the cancellation of the tour and impact hundreds of thousands of fans”, they said.
