Woody Harrelson says he wants to “get rid” of Trump: “We’re going backward”

Woody Harrelson isn’t holding back on his views about Donald Trump.
In a now-viral interview with the Associated Press, the award-winning actor bluntly shared that he believes the US is “going backwards” with Trump as president.
Under the Trump administration so far, around 225 executive orders have been enacted that have directly affected DEI and the LGBTQ+ community, including orders that state that there are “only two sexes” and banning transgender people from serving in the military.
Harrelson added: “We have a guy running this country who has unearthed a lot of bigotry, a lot of racism and it seems to be more virulent than ever. It seems like we’re going backward.
“I wish there were a way to get rid of that son of a b**** and get in a great president.”
Harrelson’s ‘brutal’ history with Trump
Harrelson previously met Trump before his presidency, back in 2002, after being invited to dinner at Trump Tower, as reported by Esquire.
Harrelson said: “It was, let me tell you, a brutal dinner. Two and a half hours.”
He recalled that there were four people at the table, including himself, but Trump took up the majority of the conversation.
“I’d say Melania got about 0.1 per cent, maybe. I got about 1 per cent and the governor, Jesse, he got about 3 per cent. Trump took the rest.
“It got so bad I had to go outside and burn one before returning to the monologue monopoly. Listen, I came up through Hollywood, so I’ve seen narcissists. This guy was beyond. It blew my mind.”
Earlier this month, Trump urged voters to “pretend I’m on the ballot” in the 2026 midterms and appeared to say that “transgender” will “end” while making his election plea in an interview with former Rep. Trey Gowdy on 30 August.
