Jack Haven has posted a YouTube video asking to be hired on a SAG production, saying they need to earn $4,000 by the end of the month to qualify for SAG health insurance.
In the clip, titled Are You Casting?, Haven introduces themself and explains the urgency of the situation. “Hi, my name is Jack Haven. I’m making this video today because I’m in a bit of an emergency situation.”
They then set out the specific target they are trying to hit: “I need to make $4,000 by the end of the month in order to qualify for SAG (Screen Actors Guild) health insurance in January.”
The request is equally direct. “So, I guess what I’m asking is if you or anyone you know can hire me on a SAG production and pay me $4,000,” they continue.
Haven also went on to list the type of work they are willing to take on.
“I will do pretty much any job. I can sing, I can dance, I can talk softly, loudly. I can do accents,” they add.
Fans respond to Haven’s $4,000 job plea
The video has resonated with viewers for its bluntness, with many responding in the comments with messages of support.
One person wrote: “This is 100% a result of transphobia in the film industry… you deserve to be hired for everything.”
Another added: “Kind of insane how even (relatively) famous people in America can get totally f***** over in terms of healthcare.”
A third wrote: “Terrible to hear that an actor of your calibre that has been in the kind of projects that you’ve been in is hard pressed for cash. Hope it works out for you!”
Haven is best known for playing Casey Gardner in Netflix’s comedy-drama Atypical. They have also appeared in films including I Saw The TV Glow and Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.
In January 2025, Haven announced their name change in an Instagram post.
