Celebrity Traitors is reportedly heading for a “sensational” semi-final bombshell that even the show’s producers “didn’t predict”, with the alleged twist being kept under wraps to avoid spoilers.
An TV insider told The Sun the BBC series is about to take a sharp turn just before the finale. “Just when you think you know exactly how the series will play out, there’s another sensational turn of events,” they said. “It’s one which no one is likely to see coming, the producers of the show certainly didn’t predict it.”
They added: “The likes of this has never been seen on the show before, and may never be seen again.”
Fans will have to wait a few more hours to find out exactly what happens, but colour us excited!
Cliffhanger tension
The tease lands with the series already in full cliffhanger mode. Last Friday’s episode ended with Traitor King Kenny holding the casting vote on which of two Faithfuls to banish: Sharon Rooney or Joanne McNally. The credits rolled as Claudia Winkleman asked Kenny to turn over his slate, leaving the decision unresolved.
Of course, viewers know both are Faithfuls, so there is a little less jeopardy than if one was a Traitor.

Last Thursday’s episode drew an overnight audience of 10.3million, while Friday’s instalment had 9.8million tuning in, with catch-up viewing usually increasing figures by at least 60 per cent.
‘Not ideal’
The semi-final also arrives after a particularly brutal misread from the Faithfuls. Romesh Ranganathan, 48, reflected on the moment on his BBC Radio 2 show: “I’ll tell you a couple of things. The first thing that I imagine, if you’ve been watching, that’s paramount in your mind is the complete and utter humiliation of being asked in the scarecrow task to pick our most Faithful people to potentially get the special power, and we chose the Traitors.”
“I’m going to tell you now, not ideal,” he added.
In that “field of screams” task, the group collected bags of gold worth £500 each, adding £13,500 to the charity prize fund, to take the total to £59,500.
However the group was also given the power to give three a special power, with them deciding Maya Jama, James Acaster and King Kenny were the most trusted – though viewers know the three of them are all Traitors.
The Celebrity Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
