Demi Lovato gives health update after worrying fans with hospital photo

Demi Lovato posted a hospital selfie showing an IV and wristband after an allergic reaction, saying she’s “either allergic to passionfruit or sushi now”.
The 34-year-old singer shared the photo to Instagram Stories, showing an IV in her arm and a hospital bracelet on her wrist. Over the image, Lovato wrote: “Soooooo i’m either allergic to passionfruit or sushi now!”
The Story was later deleted, but the repost circulated online, leading to concern from fans.
Lovato later shared a follow-up message to reassure them, writing: “I’m fine!” That post was also later deleted.
Thankfully, it appears it was nothing too serious, as Lovato was later pictured at an Airbnb Gala, longside stars such as Charli XCX and Adéla.
‘Protect my health’
The update follows a health-related message Lovato shared earlier this year. In February 2026, she cancelled five upcoming concerts on her It’s Not That Deep tour, saying at the time she was cancelling dates to “protect my health”.
She has also spoken publicly about addiction recovery and mental health, including a 2018 overdose and subsequent recovery.
Lovato celebrates It’s Not That Deep anniversary
The hospital update also arrived as Lovato marked one year since the release of her ninth album, It’s Not That Deep.
In an Instagram post celebrating the milestone, she wrote: “Happy 1st birthday IT’S NOT THAT DEEP what a year!!!”
Her husband, Jordan ‘Jutes’ Lutes, commented: “Beautiful human, banger album. I love u and I’m so proud of u.”
Lovato spoke about their relationship on the Street You Grew Up On podcast with Kerry Washington, saying: “It’s such a gift. He’s brought so much joy into my life,” and adding: “I do feel like I’ve found my home in him…”.
