Young LGB people invited to Stonewall event
Gay rights organisation Stonewall is holding a day of inspirational workshops and advice sessions for gay, bisexual and lesbian people aged between 16 and 21.
The event, which will be held in City Hall in London, is open to young people from across the UK, and financial assistance with travel expenses is available.
The event is a unique opportunity for young people to meet other young gay, lesbian or bisexual people from around the country and take part workshops that could help transform their lives.
It aims to help young people celebrate their sexuality, give advice on finding work, making friends and being safe.
Inspirational gay role models will give short speeches and a series of wide-ranging workshops will be held.
The Gay Youth Event is the first that Stonewall has hosted. It will be held on Saturday 9th June.
Guest speakers will include actress Olivia Hallinan, who played the young teen lesbian Kim in Channel Four drama Sugar Rush.
The event is free and open to people aged between 16-21 who are lesbian, gay or bisexual.
“Stonewall are looking for young people who might not be fulfilling their potential and would benefit from an inspirational event such as this,” a spokeswoman said.
Anyone in that age group who might want to apply to attend should click here and download an application form.
