Piers Morgan loves getting into a heated debate while presenting Good Morning Britain.

The former tabloid newspaper editor is back after his summer break and already back on the anti-trans bandwagon.

It was revealed at the weekend that John Lewis has removed specific gender tags from their children’s clothing.

Welcoming gay comedian and writer Julian Clary to the show, co-host Susannah Reid was quick to bring up the gender neutral tag debate.

While Piers is usually quick to claim victory on his LGBT rants, it seemed Clary was a match too far as he fell silent.

Challenged on the idea kids’ clothing should not have gender labels, comic Clary said: “I don’t find that confusing at all. My opinion is, why not?

“It seems like a way forward. Boys are not being told they should wear frilly dresses – you’re just being tabloid about it, Piers.

“But if you are a boy and you want to wear a frilly dress, then you should be able to do it without being shamed.”

Piers then tried arguing back, stating that people “these days” refuse to embrace gender.

He later accused John Lewis of caving into the demands of a small minority that is “obsessed” with gender neutrality by choosing to no longer divide children’s clothes into boys and girls.

Stonewall has previously condemned Piers Morgan’s comments about non-binary people as “bigoted and transphobic”.

The host has been irrationally irate about gender-neutral issues ever since Emma Watson received the first gender-neutral MTV Movie and TV Award earlier this year.

Piers was also credited on today’s programme for laying into a man who believed homosexuality could be cured.

The presenter could hardly contain his anger as guest Dr Michael Davidson claimed he could stop people being gay.

The 52 year old, who has been criticised for his views on non-binary people, lambasted: “You know what we call these people? We call them horrible little bigots in the modern world.

“Bigoted people who talk complete claptrap and, in my view, a malevolent and dangerous part of our society.

“What’s the matter with you? Stop talking for a moment. Stop banging on.”
