It has been announced this week that Amazon Music will provide the soundtrack for London Pride 2018 as the eventā€™s official music partner.Ā

This follows Amazon Musicā€™s inaugural sponsorship last year that featured a 50-track playlist of LGBT+ anthems such as Beyonceā€™s ā€œRun the World (Girls)ā€, Sister Sledgeā€™s ā€œWe Are Familyā€, and George Michaelā€™s ā€œFreedom! ’90ā€.Ā

For 2018 London Pride events, Amazon Music has created twelve different playlists that represent the LGBT+ community, including ā€œBoys like Boysā€ and ā€œGirls Like Girlsā€, as well as more broad selections like ā€œOfficial Pride in Londonā€ and era-specific playlists such as ā€œComing out in the 70sā€.

This yearā€™s playlists include songs by mainstream LGBT+ music artists Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, Frank Ocean, and Tegan and Sara.Ā

To listen, Prime Music and Amazon Music Unlimited customers can search a playlist name in Amazon Music. Subscribers with Alexa enabled devices can ask Alexa to start playing specific playlists by saying, ā€œAlexa, play the Boys Like Boys playlistā€ or ā€œAlexa, play the Official Pride in London playlist.ā€Ā

Amazon Music with further support London Pride events by having a float and the largest walking group in the July 7 parade, with the soundtrack being provided by a DJ from the Amazon Music programming team.Ā

Also on July 7 will be a pop-up experiential space in Trafalgar Square where Amazon Music will host silent discos. The music for the event will include the ā€œOfficial Pride in Londonā€ and ā€œLondon After-Partyā€ Amazon Music playlists.Ā
