RuPaul reportedly gets a new talkshow

RuPaul has reportedly landed a new daytime talkshow.

According to Variety, the host of RuPaul’s Drag Race will film a talkshow pilot with Telepictures, a production arm of Warner Bros. Television, which is also behind The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

RuPaul’s new show will reportedly hit TV screens in 2019, and will feature RuPaul interviewing celebrities; giving beauty tips; discussing pop culture; and playing games with guests. It will be recorded in front of a live audience.

His RuPaul’s Drag Race co-star Michelle Visage will also allegedly set to play a big role in the show.

RuPaul has reportedly bagged a daytime talkshow.

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10 recently finished, with 22-year old Aquaria being crowned the winner – and claiming the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”

During the finale, RuPaul hit-out at Trump, saying: “Here in the House of RuPaul, everybody is welcome. There ain’t no walls here to divide us. There’s only love.

“Now, let’s say it loud enough that they can hear us in Washington DC. Everybody say love!”

The host then quipped: “Now drive that down Pennsylvania Avenue and get your ass outta here!”

The drag show has been renewed for an eleventh season.

In May, it was revealed that RuPaul is teaming up with Sex and the City writer Michael Patrick King for a new 10-episode Netflix comedy.

The show, called AJ and the Queen, will see the RuPaul starring as Ruby Red – described as a “bigger-than-life but down-on-her-luck drag queen” – as she travels around in a 1990s RV to play in clubs across America.

According to Netflix, RuPaul will perform a “killer musical number” at every club.

RuPaul’s character will also have a sidekick, known only as AJ, who is an 11-year old orphaned and “scrappy” stowaway.

As well as starring in the hour-long episodes, RuPaul is an executive producer and writer for the show. King is an executive producer and writer for the show, too.

AJ and the Queen will be produced by MPK Productions, which is owned by King, in association with Warner Bros. Television.

No release date has been announced yet, other than Netflix posting on Twitter that the show is “coming soon, honey.”

It was also announced in May that RuPaul and a handful of fan favourite queens from across the show’s history are set to star in a new animated showDrag Tots.
