Courtney Act performs ‘Fight For Love’ in Eurovision bid

Courtney Act on Eurovision – Australia Decides

Former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Courtney Act has performed her new track “Fight For Love” in a bid to represent Australia at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Act took to the stage dressed in a garish red outfit—complete with a heart-shaped head piece—to perform her song on Eurovision – Australia Decides, featuring flashing strobe lighting and backing dancers.

The 2018 Celebrity Big Brother winner, whose real name is Shane Jenek, is competing against nine others, including Kate Miller-Heidke and Ella Hooper, to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Act’s rendition on Eurovision – Australia Decides was broadcast live on SBS.

The public are currently voting on who they want to compete for Australia at the competition.

The winner will be decided using a combination of the public vote and a professional jury.

Australia’s entry for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest is expected to be revealed on Saturday (February 9).

“Dear Australia if you know what’s good for you send the lovely Courtney Act to Eurovision,” one person wrote.

Another said: “This outfit is the real winner.”

However, a third Twitter user, while complimenting Act’s costume, said that the star’s singing was not in tune.

“Courtney Act’s outfit is a serve. But girl find the note. Fine the note,” they wrote.

Last month, it was revealed that Act is set to appear on Australia’s Dancing with the Stars with a male partner.

Act was the final contestant to be announced in the 11-strong line-up for the celebrity-studded dance competition.

The drag queen revealed the news on Twitter and jokingly referred to her costume mishap while entering Celebrity Big Brother in January 2018, which she went on to win.
