Another Spice Girls reunion tour looks to be on the cards imminently after Mel C confirmed she would like to get the band together again “as soon as we can”.

Mel C teased in a recent interview that there are “many more exciting things” to come as the Spice Girls celebrate their 25th anniversary this year.

Sporty Spice opened up about the possibility of another reunion tour in an interview on the Celebrity Search Engine podcast.

She said: “I can’t speak for everybody, but if it was down to me, as soon as we can [tour], we will.

“The success of the shows in 2019 and just how much we loved it, we have to do it.

“If we don’t do it, I’ll be very, very cross.”

The iconic girl group previously reunited in 2019 for a UK and Ireland tour, minus Posh Spice, Victoria Beckham.

It was widely expected at the time that more dates would follow, until the pandemic threw a spanner in the works.

Mel C’s comments follow those of her bandmate Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), who told Radio X earlier this month that she’s “dying” to perform once again with her bandmates.

She explained the group had “started talking about maybe doing some more” shows just before the pandemic hit.

“I’m dying to do it again. I’m waiting to see what’s going on in the world,” Bunton said.

“You can’t book anything yet so we’re waiting for that moment, but I’m sure that will happen when we can!”

Mel C says Spice Girls haven’t been approached by Glastonbury

The Spice Girls had been linked with a potential Glastonbury slot before the 2021 festival was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Mel B actually broke the news that Glastonbury would not be taking place before it was officially announced, leading many to believe the band had bene confirmed for the coveted Legends slot.

However, Mel C told the Celebrity Search Engine podcast that the group has “never been approached” to perform at the legendary music festival.

“The absolute dream! I would love to play Glastonbury, in fact, all the girls would,” Mel C added. “But yeah, haven’t yet had the call.”

To mark the 25th anniversary of their hit single “Wannabe”, the group is releasing an all-new limited edition EP – “Wannabe25” – which will be available to stream from 9 July. The EP will include the original single, a new remix, the original demo recording and a demo of a previously unreleased ballad written by the Spice Girls.

A vinyl and cassette version of the EP will be released later in the month.

The Spice Girls also recently released a Pride t-shirt that reads “proud and wannabe your lover” – a reference to the iconic single. The shirt was created by Victoria Beckham and modelled by her old bandmates including Mel C, Mel B, Bunton and Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”).

Beckham also confirmed that 100 per cent of the t-shirt proceeds will be donated to LGBT+ youth homelessness charity, the Albert Kennedy Trust.
