Emma Bunton has asked fans to help track down a vintage dress she wore on the Spice World film poster, claiming it was stolen after she sent it to a designer to be copied.
The 50-year-old Spice Girls singer, known as Baby Spice, shared the story while speaking on the podcast Unlikely Friends alongside Leigh Francis, describing the outfit as a “classic gold and green straight frock” that she loved because it “really fit well”.
“I wore quite a lovely dress on the poster of the Spice World movie, it was on all the tins, I don’t know if you remember but we all had our own tin for the movie,” Bunton said. She added that the dress was vintage, and that she wanted it replicated because “everything about it was perfect”.
Bunton explained: “So I sent it off to be copied by a designer, not a high high designer, but a designer that I knew.”
How the dress went missing
Bunton suggested the dress disappeared during delivery or handling. She said she waited for it to be returned, then called the designer and was told they had not received it. Bunton said she had arranged for someone to bring the dress in to be copied, claiming someone “stole it”.

She also told listeners she “never went to [the designer] again”.
The dress was worn for the band’s 1997 Spice World poster shoot, and Bunton explained it also appeared on the collectable tins tied to the film, with each member having their own.
Emma asks fans for help
Bunton said she has kept an eye out for the outfit ever since it vanished, and is now appealing directly to fans in case it resurfaces years later.
“And so I must say if any of my fans find that dress somewhere in years to come… It was on the front of all the tins, it was a special one,” she said.
Bunton has continued a solo career and broadcasting work since the group’s original run, and recently joined David Tennant and Lola Young in sending a message of support to the trans community.
