Cher shuts down ‘haters’ after confirming relationship with man less than half her age

Pop legend Cher has taken to social media to confirm her relationship with music producer Alexander Edwards.

She posted a picture of Edwards – an executive of record label Def Jam – on Twitter with a red heart and the caption: “Alexander.”

Since sharing the photo, the pop legend has been fielding questions from fans who have been asking about her relationship.

The biggest topic addressed is the 40-year age gap between the two music industry lovebirds.

A user wrote: “Yess, 40-year age difference. Only Cher (clapping emojis) I love it!”

To which the 76-year-old icon herself responded: “LOVE DOESNT KNOW MATH, IT SEES. RINPOCHE TOLD ME “SOME PPL MEET, OTHERS “RECOGNIZE””.

One user wrote of his suspicions of Alexander and the age gap between them:

“I’m not sure how I feel about this. I’ve been a fan for so long that I’m immediately suspicious of his intentions towards you. WE know you are fabulous and I’m sure your inner circle will continue to have your back. Want you to be happy, but not taken advantage of!!!”

In true Cher fashion, she replied: “As we All Know …I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY, & What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees. Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance.I’ve Always Taken Chances…It’s WHO I Am”

The pop icon also revealed that Edwards treats her like royalty.

One fan wrote: “He better be treating you like the queen you are!” to which Cher replied:

“LIKE A (crown emoji)”.

As it should be!

She effectively silenced all the haters, tweeting: “‘I’m Not Defending us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’t Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone”.  Well said, Cher.

The star had previously teased about her relationship, writing “One part of my life is SO AMAZING”, followed by a heart-eyed emoji on 1 November.

The Def Jam record label is home to some of the biggest stars in the music industry, including Justin Bieber and Rihanna.

Cher has previously been married twice, to Sonny Bono and late singer Gregg Allman.
