Katy Perry is ‘100% trash’ and a ‘nightmare’, actor claims

Singer and voice actress Grey DeLisle, known for voicing fashion icon Daphne in Scooby-Doo, has said that Katy Perry is “100 per cent trash”.

DeLisle joined a wave of furious backlash after Perry shared a photo of herself voting for Republican-turned-Democrat Rick Caruso to become mayor of Los Angeles in the US midterm elections on 8 November, 2022.

Caruso lost the election.

Taking to Twitter, Grammy award-winning DeLisle said that she has been told that Perry is difficult to work with.

DeLisle said: “A bunch of friends who work in production have always told me what a nightmare @katyperry was behind the scenes and now that she took a selfie voting for an anti-choice candidate who wants to round-up the unhoused…I feel very comfy telling you guys that she is 100 per cent TRASH.”

In a follow up tweet, she added: “I don’t kiss celebrity ass. If you’re s**ty to the crew, I will name names.”

Replying to a fan who asked who Perry had voted for, DeLisle replied: “A homophobic, anti choice Republican who wants to haul away the unhoused like garbage!!!!”

Twitter users were divided by DeLisle’s comments, with many of Katy Perry’s fans jumping to the singer’s defence.

One said: “Who exactly are these “friends”? because every single person who has GENUINELY worked with her has NEVER had a bad thing to say about her.”

Others agreed with DeLisle and even shared their own experience with Perry, with one writing: “I encountered Katy Perry several times while working at Disneyland and I can confirm from an outsider’s perspective that she is insufferable.”

Some Tweeters simply revelled in the fact that it was DeLisle, the voice of famous characters including Daphne, Catwoman, and Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Princess Azula, who was taking aim at Perry.

Perry’s decision to vote for Rick Caruso caused particular uproar due to the fact that the billionaire businessman was a known Republican up until just three years ago, throughout much of Donald Trump’s time in office.

While Perry has voiced her pro-choice views and been critical of the Supreme Court decision to overturn the Roe v Wade ruling, fans were quick to point out that Caruso’s views on abortion aren’t exactly clear.

While his representatives have said he “has always been pro-choice”, the devout catholic has previously donated to anti-abortion politicians.

Fans were evidently upset by Perry’s decision, with one saying: “I have loved you for your music and beliefs for women’s rights. Why vote for an anti-abortion activist? I just really needed reasons.”

“Shame on @katyperry for voting for anti abortion billionaire male Rick Caruso. What a hypocrite,” another added.
