Peaches is set to return, people! Ariana Grande has revived the character in her latest release, Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead and her upcoming accompanying short film.
One year ago, the Wicked star gifted the world with her genius work that is Eternal Sunshine, and the world has never been the same. For a start, Grande served us the undeniable pop banger of a single “Yes, And?”, the frankly heart-wrenching “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)” music video, and the ever-catchy Brandy & Monica-inspired track “The Boy Is Mine”.
The concept album was a swift departure from Grande’s trademark R&B sound and larger-than-life falsetto runs. Instead, the singer-songwriter got vulnerable about her personal life and relationships while taking inspiration from the 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Fans have been waiting with bated breath ever since for the release of her deluxe album (not to be confused with her Slightly Deluxe release, which landed in October). The 2025 album contains six never-heard-before new songs, including “Twilight Zone”, “Warm”, “Dandelion”, “Past Life”, and “Hampstead”, as well as an extended version of her ethereal introductory song, “Intro (End of the World) – Extended”.
Grande has also confirmed that her album character Peaches, who appears in the “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)” and “The Boy Is Mine” music videos, is set to make a return. The singer teased that a short film directed by Christian Breslauer is set to accompany the album.
Grande posted a clip of the fictional “Brighter Days Inc.” clinic to Instagram on Thursday (27 March), which hears an off-screen voice asking, “Is there a Peaches here? Peaches?” The clinic was first seen in the “We Can’t Be Friends” video, which sees Grande’s Peaches undergoing a procedure in a bid to erase all the memories she has of her ex.
You can stream Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead now, while the Brighter Days Ahead film premieres on YouTube on Saturday (29 March).
