Hollyoaks star Oscar Curtis was hospitalised after being bitten by a monkey while on holiday in India.
Curtis, who plays gay character Lucas Hay in the series – and whose tumultuous storyline has included undergoing conversion therapy, was bitten by a monkey while on holiday in India.
On Monday (2 March), the 20-year-old took to his Instagram Story to share that he was left needing medical attention following the bite.
Curtis firstly shared an image of him crouching down as he fed the sitting monkeys. The next post revealed that he was bitten, but he thankfully confirmed he doesn’t have rabies.
“Moments before the little s*** bit me and I had to go to hospital for rabies jabs FFS.
“I’m all good tho and don’t have rabies,” the text over a photo of a monkey sitting on a bench read.

Curtis has been on holiday in India in recent weeks following a rumour circulating that he has quit Hollyoaks after he posted on Instagram to share that he was moving out of his Liverpool home close to the soap’s set.
Last month in the soap, Lucas’ partner Dillion broke up with him. The breakup came after Lucas had landed in some trouble for violence, which resulted in his arrest.
Lucas spent a short time in prison before heading to London, finding a new home in someone’s garage.
Hollyoaks has form for tackling LGBTQ+ issues, and has also introduced several trans and non-binary characters in recent years.
In 2015, Sally St. Claire became the first ever trans character to be played by a trans actress (Annie Wallace) in British soap history.
Characters Ripley Lennox (Ki Griffin) and Phoenix Hathaway (Tylan Grant) have also provided vital non-binary and trans representation in the show, while 12-year-old character Rose Lomax (Ava Webster) came out as a trans boy, adopting the name Ro and using he/him pronouns.
