Drag Race icon Katya Zamolodchikova show postponed after mystery ‘medical procedure’

RuPaul’s Drag Race legends Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova have cancelled their 9 May show after Katya’s recent health issues.
On 29 April, Katya revealed she was in hospital after sharing a photo from a hospital bed, saying she was in “body jail”. While she did not share what health issues she was going through, Katya’s fans sent well-wishes.
On 5 May, best friend and co-star Trixie announced that their 9 May Netflix is a Joke show was being postponed.
She said in a statement on her Instagram Story: “We are sorry to announce that our Netflix is a Joke Festival show on May 9th must be postponed as Katya focuses on her health and recovery following a medical procedure.
“Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. Please hold on to your tickets – a reschedule date should be announced shortly.”
Katya also shared the same statement on her own Instagram Story.
Katya’s health issues
On 29 April, Drag Race season seven star Katya posted a photo which showed her in hospital linked up to tubes.
She did not divulge what she was going through, but posted on X: “Everyone gets sick. (Almost) everybody gets old. And every one dies.”
Then on 2 May, she shared a post which suggested she had been discharged and was thankfully on the mend. It read: “Happy this day to the divas helping gran get her can out the hospital. Thank you for the bday and get well wishes. I will do just that it seems.”
