Halle Bailey’s ex says men who watch Love Island alone are ‘gay’

DDG and ex Halle Bailey / Love Island USA

Rapper DDG says it’s “gay” for men to watch Love Island alone – or at least “bisexual”.

The 28-year-old – real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr – is also an online personality, making videos on YouTube and streaming.

During a recent stream, as reported by TMZ, DDG, who is Halle Bailey‘s ex, explained he hasn’t been watching the current season of Love Island USA because he’s not in a relationship.

He said: “I haven’t watched Love Island. You know why? ‘Cause I don’t have anybody to watch it with.”

The musician continued: “I think it’s gay to watch Love Island by yourself. If you’re a n**** and you’re watching Love Island solo, you might be bisexual.”

He said he thought that way as the show is “like, soft p-o-r-n”. He added it’s “a little bisexual” to watch the contestants, who are all in heterosexual pairings, kiss.

It’s not just Love Island though, as he said he also couldn’t go and watch a movie at the cinema without a girl as he would be seen as being bisexual.

DDG and Halle Bailey’s relationship timeline

DDG is the ex of singer Halle Bailey. They confirmed their relationship in 2022, and welcomed a son in December 2023. They split in 2024.

In May 2025, Bailey was granted a restraining order against him after she alleged he had abused her. Bailey was subsequently granted temporary legal and physical custody of their little boy.

Following that, DDG was granted a temporary restraining against Bailey, but was denied a request to stop her leaving the country with their son. He claimed she was a “risk” to both herself and their son.
