Meet your new ‘Charlie’s Angels’: Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska

Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and rising British star Ella Balinska are officially confirmed to star in Sony Pictures’ rebooted Charlie’s Angels.

The Elizabeth Banks-directed film will see the next generation of Angels working for the mysterious Charlie, reports Deadline.

Banks will also play Bosley in the movie.

The crime-fighting trio will work for the Townsend Agency, which has expanded and gone international. They will provide intelligence and security services to a range of private clients across the world.

The movie will mark Stewart’s return to big budget films, having mostly played parts in independent productions after The Twilight Saga wrapped up.

Scott, meanwhile, gained mainstream success after starring in the 2017 film Power Rangers, and will also play Jasmine in the upcoming live-action movie Aladdin by Disney.

Balinska has made a name for herself in the UK playing Grace Briggs in ITV’s Midsomer Murders.

The rebooted film is rumoured to be released in September 2019.

The new Charlie’s Angels film will be produced by Banks and Max Handelman of Brownstone Productions with Doug Belgrad.

The script was written by Jay Basu and Banks, based on previous drafts by Semi Chellas and Craig Mazin.

The original Charlie’s Angels film hit the big screen in 2000, starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu.

The film was a huge success raking in $264 million at the box office.

It was based on the TV series of the same name, which ran from 1976 until 1981. It starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith in the leading roles.

A sequel of the film, called Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, was released in 2003, with Diaz, Barrymore and Liu taking back their roles.

This also proved a hit, making $259 globally.

Stewart recently turned queer heads when she was photographed staring lovingly into the eyes of Cate Blanchett.

The actors were snapped together when they sitting on the Cannes Film Festival jury, along with other stars like Léa Seydoux and director Ava DuVernay.

Stewart was photographed when she repeatedly gazed – or “gayzed,” according to fans – at Blanchett, sending them into a tailspin of ecstasy.

The former Twilight star came out in 2015, when she confirmed she was “not hiding” her relationship with then-girlfriend Alicia Cargile.

Stewart, who is currently dating Stella Maxwell, said on Saturday Night Live last yearthat she was “like, so gay”.
