Grimes fans think she’s had ‘elf ear’ surgery after bandaged selfie

Grimes releases new single Player of Games

Grimes shared a post-surgery selfie on Twitter a month after asking fans for their experience with “elf ear mods”.

The musician posted that she “did smthn crazy”, alongside a snap showing her bandaged head, leading many to think that she has undergone surgery to get “elf ears”.

The Canadian musician, who split from billionaire Elon Musk earlier this year, reached out to fans in August, revealing she had an upcoming appointment with a plastic surgeon.

She asked whether fans had any recommendations for suggested surgeries.

“Two years ago I made an appointment with a great plastic surgeon, thought I might want to change things up by my mid 30s, but then I forgot and never thought about what I should do, Grimes said.

“Any face mods y’all think would look good on me? (Elf ears isn’t an option, that’s a separate quest).”

In another tweet added to the thread, she asked specifically for information on any practitioners who were able to do both “vampire teeth caps” and “reputable elf ear modifiers”.

She clarified that she was “still debating this surgery”.

Then, just 20 minutes later, she tweeted again, asking for more information regarding elf ear surgery: “Also, has anyone done elf ear mods with a good outcome? I’m scared about ear cartilage having a hard time healing.

“Especially as a musician this surgery seems risky but I’ve wanted it my whole life. Curious about people’s experiences!”

Elon Musk himself replied to this tweet, recommending against the procedure.

“The downside of elf ear surgery probably outweighs the upside,” he said.

It seems that Grimes may not have heeded this advice.

We’ll have to wait to see what the “smthn crazy” actually is; but if we know Grimes, it’s sure to be interesting.
In March 2021, Grimes confirmed that she had welcomed her second child, Exa Dark Sideræl, with Elon Musk. She already has one child, X Æ A-12, with the tech billionaire.
The musician is gearing up for the release of her sixth album, a “space opera” about an “artificial courtesan” she named “CLAIRE DE LUNE”.
