The Celebrity Traitors’ Sebastian Croft isn’t just an actor and singer – he’s also a queer activist

After the inaugural series of The Celebrity Traitors gripped us all with backstabbing, camp spectacle and the hilarious Alan Carr. The line-up for the second season is stacked, including Heartstopper star Sebastian Croft.
The 24-year-old British actor and singer is one of several LGBTQ+ stars, including The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey, comedian Joe Lycett and Industry’s Myha’la, taking part in the show.
Croft has already established himself as a triple threat through his acting, singing and activism – but will he prove a threat to the Traitors or the Faithfuls, depending on which side he ends up on.
Croft is just one of the 21 famous face crew who will arrive at Claudia Winkleman’s iconic Andross Castle to try and survive the nightly murders.

Is Sebastian Croft LGBTQ+?
Yes, Croft identifies as queer and is a member of the LGBTQ+ community. He’s been open about his sexuality in his work as well as his activism.
He co-created the “Queer Was Always Here” initiative with fellow actor Connor Jessup in 2023.
“Queer Was Always Here is a community dedicated to queer lives, queer art and queer history,” the organisation’s website reads.
“We work in partnership with Choose Love to secure futures for LGBTQIA+ refugees and displaced people around the world.”
Is Sebastian Croft a singer?
Croft began releasing music independently in 2025 with “Tokyo,” followed by “Better than Ever” earlier this year.
He’s referenced his sexuality in his music. In “Tokyo,” he sings: “Met a boy in the south of France / A whirlwind of a queer romance / ‘Cause he was perfect but something’s wrong.”
With the announcement of his music career, Croft got personal. He shared on Instagram: “2 and a half years ago I had a break up, and at the time it seemed like the worst thing that could have happened. But what i didn’t know was it was the start of a really beautiful journey.
“I wrote loads and loads and loads of songs because it was really the only thing that i felt I could do.” We’re waiting for more music from the young star.
What has Sebastian Croft starred in?
Croft launched his acting career as a child. He made his TV debut as young Ned Stark in Game of Thrones.
He earned a BAFTA Children’s Award nomination for his role in Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans.
Croft got mainstream attention with Heartstopper. In the adaptation of Alice Oseman’s graphic novel, Croft played closeted school bully Ben Hope in seasons one and two of the show. The character made life difficult for Charlie Spring, played by Joe Locke, and his boyfriend Nick Nelson (Kit Connor).
Following this role, he starred in teen rom-com How to Date Billy Walsh and the horror film Get Away.
Speaking to PinkNews, Croft shared he would “100 per cent” be interested in starring in a queer romance in the future.
Croft has also done voice work in Where Is Anne Frank, Love, Death & Robots and the game Hogwarts Legacy.
The latter got Croft into some controversy. He immediately faced backlash on social media, with fans questioning why he would sign on to the project in light of Harry Potter author JK Rowling’s views on trans people.
In response, Croft apologised for the “hurt” he had caused. He continued: “I know far more now than I did three years ago, and hope to learn far more in the next three. I’m really sorry to anyone hurt by this announcement. There is no LGB without the T.”
The Celebrity Traitors begins on Thursday 1 October at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The series will air two nights a week on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm.
