Walking Dead star Nico Tortorella really wants you to know they’re vers
Non-binary model Nico Tortorella really, really wants you to know they’re vers.
These days, it seems that so many folks – from Daniel Newman to the Archbishop of Canterbury – are getting horny on main. What was once tucked inside private alt accounts and darting-app bios have now surged to the surface of everyone’s Twitter timelines.
Social distancing measures have meant many people are going long durations without physical contact of all kinds, and it seems it’s really hit its climax for Tortorella, who casually announced they’re vers on their Instagram stories Sunday evening.
We’re not sure if this is a new trend among LGBT+ Walking Dead stars – Tortorella was cast as lead of a new Walking Dead spin-off in August 2019 – but it’s one we wholly welcome.
Nico Tortorella is vers, and that is information we must, somehow, learn to live with.
Tortorella shared an ancient queer text, the “gay sitting alignment chart”, which shows outlines of people sitting down on seats in various ways.
For example, a top has the posture of a bearskin tossed across a chair; they slump, drape, and dangle. Conversely, a bottom remains ready to pounce at any moment, as they’re depicted with their legs curled into their stomach.

Tortorella, 31, doodled a line to the top outline and wrote: “This is how I was sitting when I read this meme, for the record.”
They then drew a second arrow pointing to vers, clarifying they’re: “More here, depends on the days, y’all.”
Non-binary star married their partner Bethany Meyers in ‘genderbending’ ceremony.
Tortorella married their non-binary, bisexual partner Bethany Meyers in 2018, more than a decade into their polyamorous relationship, in a wedding the pair described as “genderbending”, “androgynous” and “fluid”.
They took the opportunity to speak out about their relationship as “twin flames,” in which they said: “We’ve been boyfriend and girlfriend, boyfriend and boyfriend, girlfriend and girlfriend, no friends, and all friends.”
Tortorella added, “We’ve been straight, confused, fluid, queer, bi, poly, gender enthusiasts,” before emphasising that “in this relationship, we both wear the pants and the dress”.
And Meyers added that when it came to her and her spouse: “Gender roles have never been our thing.”
