Yungblud has revealed he has a leg injury – and still played a 10-song set after a motorbike crash before going to hospital.
The 29-year-old musician, whose real name is Dom Harrison, posted an Instagram update on Sunday showing his leg heavily bandaged and using crutches
In the message, vocal LGBTQ+ ally Yungblud wrote: “Leg f*****, still giggin’. Still standin’ (sort of).” He added: “Portugal and Belgium – I’m comin’ and it’s gonna be f****** mad.”
According to The Sun, the rocker was involved in a motorbike accident in Michigan earlier this month and waited to go to hospital until after he completed a scheduled gig.
When ‘break a leg’ gets too literal
Despite his injury, it appears Yungblud has no plans to let it derail his upcoming dates, telling fans he is still coming to Portugal and Belgium. He was due back on stage in Portugal on Monday, before headlining Belgium’s Pukkelpop festival on Friday.
The performer posted a GIF in his own comments section showing someone spinning around in a wheelchair.
Band The Molotovs wrote in the comments: “Took break a leg a bit too seriously.”
Meanwhile, many fans wished the star well. “Get healthy quickly,” one commented. Another said: “Get well soon, take care of yourself please. Love you.”
A turbulent run on the road
The injury update follows a difficult stretch on tour. He previously pulled out of Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary to focus on his wellbeing, saying: “To all my family in Canada, I apologise for not being there with you all this weekend – I’m currently in a place where I’m working on myself and taking time off at home in the UK.”
In July, he shared an honest post with fans about his mental health struggles. He said: “Recently, I’ve been really struggling… I’m not gonna lie to you, when I got off this stage I felt elated but 20 minutes later when I was in the shower on my own I had a breakdown.”
Fans rushed to tell him to take care of himself, and take the time he needed away from the stage.
