Standon Calling has once again achieved a gender-balanced lineup.
Standon Calling has once again achieved a gender-balanced lineup.

Last year the festival was praised for becoming the first major UK festival to achieve a gender-balanced lineup.

The 2022 edition of the festival featured a 54 percent representation of female-identifying and non-binary artists, including an all-female and non-binary lineup stage.

Standon Calling was among a number of UK festivals committed to PRS Foundation’s Keychange initiative in 2018, with the aim to have a gender-balanced line-up by 2022.

Francine Gorman from Keychange said the festival is “demonstrating that gender representative line ups can be achieved” and they’re “giving under-represented artists their rightful space on a prominent festival stage”.

The festival has once again achieved this for the 2023 edition, with even greater representation on the lineup.

Discussing the 2023 edition, festival founder Alex Trenchard said: “We’re so proud of this year’s progress in booking a gender-balanced headline bill.”
