Although the lineup is yet to be revealed, it’s been confirmed that Anton Du Beke will join the live tour judging panel for the first time alongside Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood.

While Janette Manrara, who hosts spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two on BBC Two, will return to host the live tour.

The live show is set to feature celebrities and professional dancers from the current series – and 20th overall – of the hit BBC show.

This year’s series features a historic two same-sex couplings with comedian Jayde Adams and professional dancer, Karen Hauer and presenter Richie Anderson with professional dancer, Giovanni Pernice.

Explaining her decision choose a same-sex partner, Adams said: “I think my partnership with Karen is more about sisterhood, and if you’re in the dance world, which I was as a child, the sort of all-girl and all-male partnerships [are] quite commonplace.

“Also, to be honest with you, if I was in a male partnership, show me one of the lads that’s lifting me. I’m now going to be able to throw Karen Hauer around that dance floor. She’s going over my head, I don’t care!” she joked.

While Anderson revealed: “They said they want me to be on Strictly this year and they were like, ‘Do you want to be with a female or male partner?'”

Richie explained it was his long-term boyfriend, Dean Eagles, who encouraged him to enter the competition as part of an all-male duo.

“When I spoke to my other half Dean, it was our 10-year anniversary, and he was like, ‘You have to,’ and it’s the 50th anniversary of Pride in the UK.”

Other contestants on this year’s lineup include Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds, singer Fleur East and actor Will Mellor.

The touring cast will perform live for audiences across the UK, with the tour kicking off on 20 January in Birmingham and finishing up on 12 February in Glasgow.
