Posters which celebrate the stabbing of six at Jerusalem Pride, which left one dead, have appeared in the city.

According to reports, extremist group Faithful Judaism, has accepted responsibility for the posters.

They have been put up in several ultra-Orthodox neighbourhoods across Jerusalem, and celebrate the stabbings by Yishai Schlissel.

Speaking on behalf of Hadassah hospital, Hadar Elboim last week said 16-year-old Shira Banki had succumbed to the wounds she sustained in the attack at the Pride event.

Shira was among six people wounded on Thursday by Yishai Schlissel, who went on a stabbing rampage during Jerusalem’s Pride parade.

Schlissel was released four weeks ago after serving 10 years in prison for a previous attack at the same parade in 2005.

“May all of the people of God be zealous as you,” one notice reads, according to the Advocate.

Another poster says: “Blessed are you Rabbi Yishai,” and quotes the Old Testament, saying: “Whoever spills the blood of the wicked is as if he brought a sacrifice.”

Others from the ultra-Othordox community have condemned the attack. Similar posters criticise the killing.

The son of a former parliamentarian Gilad Kleiner, was arrested on Friday after posting comments on Facebook appearing to celebrate the killing.

He was released on Saturday on the condition that he would not post more comments online.
