Caitlyn Jenner video ‘Hire trans people for your company to combat hate’
Caitlyn Jenner and Chandi Moore have released a video for Transgender Day of Remembrance calling for an end to anti-trans violence.
In the video Jenner and Moore call attention to the 21 transgender women that have been unlawfully killed in the US this year, which is almost double the number from last year.
Jenner told viewers “No one should be killed simply because they are transgender.
“listen to trans people’s stories, hire a trans person at your company support a trans student at your school, Love your trans child.
lets all take action to put an end to hate and violence.”
Transgender people of colour suffer disproportionate levels of violence and poverty, according to a study released earlier this year.
Transgender Day of Remembrance services are being held across the world today to mourn the deaths of transgender people who have been unlawfully killed.
This year 271 transgender murders have been reported by Transgender Europe’s Trans Murder Monitoring (TMM) project. Most of the victims were people of colour in South American countries.
The reality star has recently been on the receiving end of a significant backlash from the transgender community after she admitted that she had previously opposed same-sex marriage.
She also received criticism after winning Glamour magazine’s Woman of The Year award for saying that the hardest thing about being a woman was “figuring out what to wear.”

Trans people of colour and transgender campaign groups have released a series of artworks as part of the Strong Families ‘Transgender Day of Resilience’ art project that aims to raise awareness of the issues trans people of colour face.
Jenner was recently ambushed by transgender protesters who labelled her an “insult to trans people.”
