The alt-right is seriously, seriously triggered by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez meeting Sasha Velour

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sasha Velour

When Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez met famous drag queen Sasha Velour this week, queer people everywhere rejoiced. But not everyone was thrilled – the alt-right is very, very upset.

The news shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise as the alt-right is notorious for being easily triggered by the mere existence of LGBT+ people.

Members of the alt-right got upset after Velour shared a video of themself and Ocasio-Cortez backstage after their show Smoke & Mirrors on Tuesday. The moment went down a treat on social media and garnered more than 50,000 likes.

Alt-right uses video of Sasha Velour and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to justify Nazism and the Holocaust.

But the alt-right has decided to take the video and turn it into an opportunity to justify Nazism and the Holocaust. All in a day’s work for a group of people that are constantly upset over things that really don’t concern them at all.

Conservative YouTuber and political commentator Dave Rubin shared the video and wrote: “Your Democratic 2024 ticket, ladies and gentlemen and other…”

The alt-right came out in force in the replies to Rubin’s tweet – but one comment in particular has garnered a lot of attention.

Has the sight of a man in women’s clothing ever made you so mad that it made you support the Holocaust?

“American soldiers in WW2 would have surrendered and defected en masse to the Nazis had they been able to see what they were really fighting for,” the Twitter user wrote.

They continued: “Give me a choice between the kind of insanity we see pictured and the Nazis, I’m taking the Nazis, without blinking an eye.”

Some Twitter users took the opportunity to make fun of the very triggered bunch.

Unsurprisingly, people had some fun with the seriously triggered alt-right over their comments. One person shared screenshots of tweets and wrote: “Has the sight of a man in women’s clothing ever made you so mad that it made you support the Holocaust?” That tweet has since been liked more than 70,000 times.

In the video, which was first shared online on Tuesday (November 12), Ocasio-Cortez is see gushing over Velour’s show, telling them: “It was amazing, it was incredible, it was fabulous.

“I’m like that Lady Gaga moment, stunning, amazing, impeccable, genius.”

Ocasio-Cortez has established herself as a major progressive force in US politics and has also made a name for herself as a leading LGBT+ ally.

In between defending the rights of trans people and rallying against toxic masculinity, the Democrat has found the time to pop up at New York drag shows, record messages of support for eliminated Drag Race queens, and now, join forces with drag royalty Sasha Velour to form what can only be described as the Avengers of gay rights.
