Celebrities in Germany have made a simple stand against homophobia by kissing members of the same sex in a photoshoot for GQ.

The magazine used the hashtag #mundpropaganda, a pun on kissing and propaganda, as part of the Gentlemen Against Homophobia campaign, as it launched images of the German celebrities locking lips.

Singer Herbert Grƶnemeyet, actor August Diehl, bands Fettes Brot and Revolverheld, as well as rappers Moses Pelham and Thomas D and Olympic beach volleyball champion Julius Brink, all got involved.

ā€œThe intolerance that homosexuals are still fighting against is shocking,ā€ said Editor-in-Chief JosĆ© Redondo-Vega. ā€œWith #Mundpropaganda we wanted to give a clear sign in favour of a free society.ā€

He went on to say that the straight male celebrities had shown ā€œadmirable courageā€ in offering to take part in the shoot.

The edition featuring the shoot is available today, 12 December.

The magazine also released a video which goes behind the scenes at the shoot. It is available to view below
