Mike Huckabee is being sued for using ‘Eye of the Tiger’ at Kim Davis rally

Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is being sued by the guitarist of the band Survivor for using the song ‘Eye of the Tiger’.

Frankie Sullivan, a co-writer on the track, objects to Huckabee’s use of the song at a high-profile rally he held for jailbird bigot Kim Davis.

Huckabee used the track at the rally for Kim Davis, alleges the lawsuit

Davis, a county clerk, was released after five days in jail earlier this year after ignoring a string of court orders instructing her to stop discriminating against same-sex couples.

Sullivan, through his company Rude Music, is suing Huckabee for unspecified damages reports the Associated Press.

It alleges that, as the co-writer of the song, he holds the rights to the song, and that the presidential hopeful did not have permission to use it.

It also denies him permission to use it at future rallies.

Speaking to Rolling Stone after Huckabee used the track, Sullivan said: “I do not like mixing rock and roll with politics; they do not go hand in hand.

“What upset me most [about Huckabee’s use] was that, once again, my song was being used to further a political agenda – and no one even bothered to ask for permission.”

He previously sued Newt Gingrich after he used the song at his rallies.

“I do not agree with Kim Davis’ stance and do not believe in denying gay rights and the freedom for all individuals to choose the lifestyle they want to live,” Sullivan said at the time.

“Our Constitution, and the words of our Founding Fathers, stand tall for freedom, which is what America is all about. I find it ridiculous in this day and age that this fight against gay marriage has gone on, even after the Supreme Court’s ruling. Let’s stop!”
