The newly released third season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt featured an amazing crossover with Orange Is The New Black.

The comedy show narrates the adventures of Kimmy, a woman that was kidnapped by a sinister reverend and kept in a bunker for 15 years with four others.

Kimmy’s bunker mate Gretchen is taken to Litchfield, the prison in Orange Is The New Black, at the end of the fifth episode of the series which was released last week.

Gretchen is set to follow the reverend’s example and create a new cult, but her experiment kidnapping teenage boys miserably fails and she gets arrested by the FBI.

In the final scene of the episode, we saw the ‘mole woman’ getting off the bus at Litchfield prison and engaging in a conversation with the inmates including Orange Is The New Black character Black Cindy.

Actress Adrienne C. Moore, who has played Black Cindy in the Netflix show for the past four seasons, had a couple of lines in the Kimmy Schmidt episode.

It appears as if Gretchen is set on starting a new all-women cult in Litchfield and Black Cindy seems ready to follow her.

The episode features a brief senseless conversation between the two about a mysterious “bonorcaphant”.

“Now, I like the orca part cause once I stabbed my boss at SeaWorld,” Black Cindy told the “preacher”.

“Thank you for sharing that Black Cindy,” Gretchen responded before declaring that she “loves” her new Litchfield life.

The inmates wear the same outfits usually seen on Orange Is The New Black.

Of course, the crossover was possible as both shows are Netflix Originals, and fans of both series greatly appreciated the mashup.

Many tweeted how it was “amazing” that Netflix made the two shows collide.

Just last week, OITNB was at the centre of another crossover with Netflix series Black Mirror.

The first ten episodes of season 5 of Orange Is The New Black have leaked online and reviews promise the most bingeworthy season so far.

The Orange Is The New Blackcast also paid tribute to a Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt in a video parody of the show Titus Andromedon’s ‘Peeno Noir’.
