A man has been turned down for adopting a cat because he is gay

A woman has apparently refused to give a cat which ādesperately needed rehomingā to a man because he is gay.
Alex Andreou shared screenshots on Twitter of a text conversation he had with the woman who refused to give him the cat for religious objections to his ālifestyleā.
He said he had travelled two hours to get the cat from the woman but that she refused to hand it over.
āSo, I just travelled two hours to adopt a cat that desperately needed rehoming and was turned down for being gay. WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE,ā he wrote.

In the conversation, the woman asks him: āSo how comes youāre single, are you gay?ā
He responds: āGood guessā, to which she says: āPeople normally mention grown up kids and so on thatās why I thought you maybe gayā.
When he asks āIs it an issue?ā she responds: āI am religious so I strongly disagree with the life style. I am sorry if I hurt your feelings.ā
Andreou responds: āDarling, Iāve been beaten and called a faggot since I was 8. My feelings are quite robust. And, yes, sorry is precisely what you areā.
The conversation apparently ends when she asks him: āAre you not afraid of going to hell when you die?ā
But Andreou later shared an update saying he was getting the cat as a friend who lived locally to the woman was going to go and pick up the cat.
He wrote: āAn Amazing friend who lives locally to that evil cow, is picking up the cats for me on Thursday. I am so happy.ā
Later adding: āI may then have to festoon the cats in Rainbow Flags and send her photos. Is there a co that makes pink litter? Pride cat bowls? I NEED GEARā.
Earlier this year a polar bear died of a broken heart after its same-sex partner was moved away.
Szenja, who was left alone at SeaWorld San Diego after her companion Snowflake was moved to Pittsburgh Zoo, died of a broken heart, animals rights charity Peta has claimed.
Szenja had lived with Snowflake for almost all of her 21 years.
