Mississippi football player ‘looks down on gay football players’ including recently out Michael Sam
Support has been pouring in for recently out gay NFL hopeful Michael Sam since he revealed he is gay in an interview on Sunday.
Some did not take the news so well, however, as proven by Mississippi State Universityās Rufus Warren, who posted a string of tweets including him saying that he ālooks downā on gay football players.
He tweeted to say: āI donāt have a problem with gay people.. Be happy! But I look down on gay football players.. This is a MAN sport! And being gay is not a man.
āThis sport is too violent for yu [sic] to go home to another man at night.. ā
He went on: āBut big props to him.. Takes a lot to come out and say you like men.. Just donāt agreeā.
The tweets were deleted, but were screengrabbed by Michael Bonner, The Clarion-Ledgerās reporter.
Warren later tweeted to apologise, saying: āMy school does not need to reflect my thoughts.. I deeply apologize to my school and my followers for what I have said.ā
His account has now been switched to protected.
