Congressman at Pride: Don’t talk about Chelsea Manning, I’m just here to party

A congressman has refused to answer questions about trans prisoner Chelsea Manning while appearing at a Pride parade.
Adam Schiff, who sits in the US House of Representatives for California’s 28th congressional district, rejected questions about the Wikileaks source at LA Pride earlier this year.
In a video shared by Jeff 4 Justice, the Democrat was asked: “As a congressman, regarding some of our LGBT brothers and sisters, what do you think of Chelsea Manning?
“Should Chelsea Manning be pardoned?”
Schiff replied: “I don’t know the answer to that, but I appreciate being here today.”
When asked about gay former Guardian journalist Glenn Grenwald – whose partner David Miranda was detained in connection with the Wikileaks investigation – he rejected the questioning.
He said: “You know, I’m just here to enjoy Pride, thank you very much… I’m just here for the party today.”
