Today Ireland’s LGBT inclusive employee network GLEN launched a new recruitment guide 2014/15 at the GradIreland recruitment fair – Ireland’s biggest careers fair.

The Gay and Lesbian Equality Network’s (GLEN) Diversity Champions Graduate Directory highlights career opportunities with employers committed to supporting diversity in the workplace, particularly for prospective LGBT employees.

It includes information on interview preparation, LGBT inclusive companies and current developments for trans employees.

Director of Workplace Diversity at GLEN, Davin Roche commented that: “Young jobseekers, including LGBT jobseekers, want to join companies that clearly demonstrate that they are progressive and inclusive.

“LGBT employees in particular want to know that the companies they join will be workplaces where they can be themselves, where they can thrive and succeed, and where their sexual orientation or gender identity will be fully respected and welcomed as part of a diverse organisation.”

National Sales Manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car said: “When I started at Enterprise it wasn’t as an ‘out’ employee, but as time went on I realised the level of support there was in the business for me.

“Since then, I have gone on to mentor and support other LGBT employees in the business. It has been so fulfilling to see how being themselves in the workplace has helped LGBT colleagues progress their careers in Enterprise too.”

According to GLEN’s website, the guide is: “Ireland’s only graduate directory for graduates, students and job-seekers who want to choose lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender inclusive workplaces.”

GLEN Diversity Champions launched its first LGBT recruitment guide the same time last year and became the first of its kind.

GradIreland’s careers fair takes place from 11am to 5pm today at RDS.
