Meet the cute teen couple who met while they were both transitioning (VIDEO)
Arin Andrews and Katie Hill are Americaās first openly transgender teen couple.
The pair met while they both were going through the transitioning process in 2012.
They are the first openly transgender teen couple in the USA, with their touching story inspiring hope in lovelorn trans teens across the world.
Andrews and Hillās relationship has won the couple an army of fans, after they shared their journey online, through a series of videos ā which covered everything from teen romance to the physical changes they both experiencing.
āI donāt think anyone unless they know our story would come to the conclusion that weāre a trans man and a trans woman dating,ā said Hill.
āThey would just see us as a boy and a girl dating.ā
āIāve always loved women and liked women as a female because Iāve always deep down known that I was straight male,ā added Andrews.
Their relationship quickly became the subject of international media coverage, and was recently the subject of a news BBC documentary āYoung, Trans and Looking for Loveā which is available on BBC iPlayer.
Although the pair have recently split, they remain extremely close ā and have inspired other trans teens in the documentary who are also looking for love.
Devon Ellerman ā an 18-year-old transgender male ā says he hopes he can one day be as happy Andrews.
āWhen I was younger I saw a few of Arinās videos. Watching his videos definitely made me feel that I wasnāt all alone. Thereās folks out there that feel the same way I do,ā he said.
āItās a little bit difficult in the dating scene because I donāt really know anybody and nobody really knows me.
āI think the ultimate goal, at the end of my life, Iād would definitely want to find somebody that Iām in love with,ā he added.
āI think it would be lovely to eventually marry a woman and carry on with our lives as normal people being in love.ā
