Ian McKellen’s impression of Maggie Smith is literally brilliant

Sir Ian McKellen has been sharing his stories of the Oscars, while revealing a very special skill.

The Lord of the Rings legend was appearing on Graham Norton’s sofa with his best pal Sir Patrick Stewart.

On the sofa he opened up about one visit to the Oscars, when there as a nominee for his role of Gandalf.

Fellow legend Maggie Smith was also at the event, and the pair had quite the encounter.

McKellen was draped in a special green carved stone, which according to New Zealanders brings good luck.

It’s fair to say that Maggie Smith was not impressed.

Also on the show Sir Patrick Stewart revealed that he believed he was circumcised for most of life – but it turned out to not quite be true.

“One night with my wife. We were talking about stuff, I mentioned my circumcision and she said, ‘You’re not circumcised!’

“I said, ‘What do you mean? That’s ridiculous, I should know. All my life my mother has told me it was fashionable at the time.’”

Graham Norton recently got into a row with Piers Morgan, telling the fellow host to “grow a pair”.
