Sam Smith shares pictures of themself unapologetically living their best life – and people love it

Sam Smith showed the world exactly how much they’re affected by the haters who can’t deal with their pronouns – and the answer is not one bit.

The ‘Stay With Me’ singer, 27, recently announced that they wanted to go by they/them pronouns six months after coming out as non-binary.

They were immediately misgendered in several news reports and faced a significant amount of intolerance from some who just couldn’t comprehend the fact that there are more than two genders.

But it looks like Smith isn’t the least bit bothered by small-minded people, as they recently shared two photos of themselves glowing with happiness after embracing their non-binary identity.

The pictures show Smith lying topless in the sun with a big glass of white wine in their hand and an even bigger smile on their face.

Their happiness is plain to see, and Smith’s fans were thrilled to see the star looking so comfortable and at ease in themselves.

The decision to use gender-neutral pronouns was one Smith thought “long and hard” about. “I’ve always had a little bit of a war going within my body and my mind,” Smith said on Jameela Jamil’s Instagram Live show I Weigh Interviews.

“When I saw the words ‘non-binary’ and ‘genderqueer’ and I read into it and I heard these people speaking, I was like, ‘F**k, that’s me.'”

Consistently using the correct name and pronouns for trans and non-binary people can reduce their rates of anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts to almost the same levels as their cisgender counterparts.

They say a picture tells a thousand words, and from the looks of this one, Sam Smith is thriving.
