US: Bruce Jenner involved in car crash, one person dead
Former Olympian Bruce Jenner has been involved in a multi-car accident in Malibu, California, that killed one person and left several injured.
The media in the US have intensely scrutinised Jenner’s appearance for months, amid rumours of a transition to female.
On Saturday afternoon, Jenner was involved in a three car pile-up on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, which killed one person and injured seven others.
The identity of the person who died in the crash has not yet been released. Jenner declined medical treatment at the scene, and is thought to be unharmed.
According to TMZ, the star was being chased by as many as five paparazzi at the time of the crash.
Photographers have grown increasingly desperate to snap photos of Jenner since the speculation about a gender transition intensified last month.
It comes after reports that Jenner has signed a deal for a ‘tell-all’ interview with a major TV channel, in which the star plans to come out as transgender.
Legendary LA-area reporter and helicopter pilot Zoey Tur –who made a return to work this week after transitioning to female – recently told CNN that the star needs to “speak up”, instead of fostering a media “circus”.
