Anti-gay Republican wants to replace debates with homoerotic pull-up contest
Anti-gay Republican Presidential wannabe Rick Perry has challenged rival Donald Trump to a totally heterosexual pull-up contest.
The former Governor of Texas is a strong opponent of LGBT rights – even claiming that the Boy Scouts of America are “better off” not allowing openly gay leaders.
Former reality TV star Donald Trump, who is leading the pack in opinion polls, slammed Perry earlier this week, claiming he is not energetic or tough enough to run a successful presidential campaign.
When a reporter put Trump’s comments to him, Perry suggested for the upcoming TV debate: “Let’s get a pull-up bar out there and see who can do more pull-ups.”
However, we’re not sure if some of the ardent homophobes running for President could cope with seeing lots of sweaty shirtless men exercising.
Rick Perry has previously been caught comparing homosexuality to alcoholism.
He claimed at an event earlier this year: “Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that.
“I may have the genetic coding that I’m inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way.”
However, when the press picked up his comments, Perry attempted to back away from the comparison, claiming he got “deflected” onto a “contentious issue”.
