Just when things were getting good – a Christian group has predicted the world is going to end imminently.

According to the leader of the eBible fellowship Chris McCann, has predicted the world will end on 7 October.

‘How?’ we hear you ask – by a great fire, says McCann.

He gave his Doomsday prediction in a five-part podcast series snappily titled ‘Why October 7, 2015, is the likely end of the world’.

“According to what the Bible is presenting, it does appear that October 7 will be the day that God has spoken of,” he explains.

Going on, McCann says it will be the day Earth “passes away”, adding: “It’ll be gone forever. Annihilated.”

He continues: “God destroyed the first Earth with water, by a flood, in the days of Noah. And he says he’ll not do that again, not by water. But he does say in 2nd Peter 3 that he’ll destroy it by fire.”

In addition, McCann predicts that “there is a strong likelihood” the world will end.

Just to cover all bases, McCann says: “There’s an unlikely possibility that it will not”.

McCann’s previous prediction was that the world would end on 21 May 2011, but after the world just kept on turning, he updated his prophecy to this year.

This comes just days after, in September, Nasa was forced to release a statement stressing that it is “unlikely” that the Earth would be destroyed by an asteroid in 2015.

“NASA knows of no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth, so the probability of a major collision is quite small,” it said.
