Just when things were getting good ā€“ a Christian group has predicted the world is going to end imminently.

According to the leader of the eBible fellowship Chris McCann, has predicted the world will end on 7 October.

ā€˜How?ā€™ we hear you ask ā€“ by a great fire, says McCann.

He gave his Doomsday prediction in a five-part podcast series snappily titled ā€˜Why October 7, 2015, is the likely end of the worldā€™.

ā€œAccording to what the Bible is presenting, it does appear that October 7 will be the day that God has spoken of,ā€ he explains.

Going on, McCann says it will be the day Earth ā€œpasses awayā€, adding: ā€œItā€™ll be gone forever. Annihilated.ā€

He continues: ā€œGod destroyed the first Earth with water, by a flood, in the days of Noah. And he says heā€™ll not do that again, not by water. But he does say in 2nd Peter 3 that heā€™ll destroy it by fire.ā€

In addition, McCann predicts that ā€œthere is a strong likelihoodā€ the world will end.

Just to cover all bases, McCann says: ā€œThereā€™s an unlikely possibility that it will notā€.

McCannā€™s previous prediction was that the world would end on 21 May 2011, but after the world just kept on turning, he updated his prophecy to this year.

This comes just days after, in September, Nasa was forced to release a statement stressing that it is ā€œunlikelyā€ that the Earth would be destroyed by an asteroid in 2015.

ā€œNASA knows of no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth, so the probability of a major collision is quite small,ā€ it said.
