Famed actor Jon Polito dies aged 65
Actor Jon Polito, well known for his roles in Coen brothers films, has died aged 65.
Polito, who is survived by his partner Darryl Armbruster, was known for appearing in films like the Big Lebowski, Barton Fink and Miller’s Crossing.
His death was announced on Facebook by director John McNaughton, a friend, who wrote: “Jon was a born actor and will be deeply missed by his legion of friends, fans, family and of course his long time partner, Darryl Armbruster to whom I send my condolences. R.I.P. old pal.”
Born in 1950 in Philadelphia, Polito also starred in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and a regular role in Modern Family.
Back in the 90s, he appeared as the landlord in Seinfeld.
Polito had been scheduled to appear in upcoming film The Maestro, which is in pre-production.
As well as the Coen brothers, Polito has worked with Tom Hanks, Clint Eastwood and Tim Burton.
Armbruster, his partner, is also an actor.
