A deodorant company has hit the nail on the head with their new advert when it comes to expressing gender.

The intimate 30 second long clip shows an internal struggle of a trans person in a public bathroom, and the anxiety they go through on a daily basis.

Anxiety that is not helped by the current controversial climate many transgender people are living in, what with the pressure of HB2 and increasing violence towards transgender people.

The advert features Karis Wilde who plays Dana, a genderqueer person trying to time their exit from a bathroom stall.

No words are said in the short clip, but the producers have cleverly portrayed the internal struggle of Dana, which is food for thought those who think negatively of transgender people.

Eventually, Dana takes a deep breath and braves “stress test #8260”, they find the courage to leave the safety of the stall and brave the busy washroom.

The actor, Karis, spoke of the resemblance the scene has to their own day to day life.

“I always have moments of insecurity but I have conditioned myself to act unbothered,” Karis told Queerty.

“While shooting, I allowed myself to feel vulnerable. It terrified me how much I’ve stored all those emotions; I almost cried in the middle of taping,” she added.
