President Trump tweets video of him ‘attacking’ CNN

President Donald Trump tweeted a video of himself “body slamming” the news outlet CNN earlier this morning in what is being called a move to encourage violence.

Trump’s toxic battle with the media came to a head this week after Press Secretary Sean Spicer announced that film crews would not be permitted into the press briefing room at all times.

The 45th president has taken particular aim at CNN since being inaugurated.

This morning, he shared a video on his personal Twitter account from when he appeared on the wrestling show, WWE Wrestle Mania in 2007.

In the 28 second clip, Trump can be seen body slamming another man who has the CNN logo photoshopped over his face.

Earlier this week, Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee denied claims that Trump had incited violence.

“The President in no way form or fashion has ever promoted or encouraged violence. If anything, quite the contrary,” she said.

CNN has responded to the clip, calling it a “sad day when the President of the United States encourages violence against reporters.”

“Sarah Huckabee Sanders lied when she said the President has never done so.

“Instead of preparing for his overseas trip, his first meeting with Vladimir Putin, dealing with North Korea and working on his health care bill, he is instead involved in juvenile behaviour far below the dignity of his office.

“We will keep doing our jobs. He should start doing his,” they concluded.

While it is not clear where the president sourced the clip to share it, it has been circulating on alt-right forums.

It has appeared on Subreddit r/The_Donald which has become a place for Trump supporters to share alt-right and far-right ideologies.

The tweet has since been retweeted by the official President’s account on Twitter, @POTUS.
