NikkieTutorials has said she’s struggling with nerves as she returns to make-up videos after coming out as trans.

In a Valentine’s Day video, the YouTube make-up guru spoke about her struggle to get back behind the camera – after a blackmail plot forced her to come out as trans.

She said: “So much has been going on in my life that, right now, all I need is to just sit down in my studio and play with make-up, so that is exactly what we’re doing.”

NikkieTutorials: ‘It’s going to take me some time.’

The YouTuber, real name Nikkie de Jager, added: “Ever since doing my coming out in this studio, I don’t want to keep talking about it, but every time I’m in this studio, it brings me back to what I felt in that moment.

“It’s going to take a little bit of time for me to sit here and not think about that, all of that. But I’ll manage. I just wanted to let you know that sometimes I get really nervous in here.”

After trying out a pink cloud-themed look, the YouTuber said she was happy to be back doing what she does best.

She said: “I finally just got to sit down and do a fun make-up look, because I’ve been craving doing something different and getting out of the past month’s vibe.

“I cannot tell you how good it felt to just sit here and [do] a really fun and cute look.”

Eurovision is calling for YouTube make-up star.

The Dutch YouTuber was recently announced as online presenter for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, which will take place in Rotterdam in May.

Her hosting duties will see her appear at both semi-finals and the grand final, as well as hosting a special backstage YouTube series with the participating artists and report from the red carpet during the Opening Ceremony.
