Teacher Kelly Hendrix was suspended after questioning students about their sexuality.

According to a report released by the school district, she asked students if they were gay – saying to one student “How do you know you are not attracted to the female body?” – as well telling students about her sex life.

She reportedly used racial slurs and insults towards her students, and b

One student said that Ms Hendrix outed her as a lesbian to her father without her permission. She says she believes the complaints from students are in retaliation for her speaking to parents.

She says she has doesn’t think she’s  done anything wrong, telling WJAX: “They’ve never even met with me and told me what I’ve done wrong.

“I teach 165 kids this year. They pulled me out of the class because of one complaint. One complaint. I’ve been teaching 21 years.”

The report says she repeatedly asked a boy about his sexuality, and intimidated him when he asked her to stop.

She says: “I called the boy outside and I said ‘What’s going on?’ And he said, ‘Kids are calling me gay,’ and I looked at him and said, ‘Well are you gay?’ And he said, ‘No,’ and I said, ‘Well why does that bother you?’ Simply like that.”

She says plans to continue teaching.
