A billboard has gone up the same day Kim Davis returns to work after a stint in jail – and it throws some serious shade on the adamant homophobe.

Kim Davis returned to work today afters spending time in jail for contempt of court – but said she would still not issue marriage licences to gay couples, and she would not authorise her deputies to do so.

The billboard was erected by Planting Peace, and reads: “Dear Kim Davis, the fact that you can’t sell your daughter for three goats and a cow means we’ve already redefined marriage.”

The best thing? Davis is sure to see the billboard, which went up in her hometown of Morehead, Kentucky, on a main thoroughfare.

“We have been told members of the local community have been taking photos and selfies in front of the billboard,” Aaron Jackson told USA Today. “We are excited that they’ve embraced our message.”

Davis, who, returning to work today, said she would not authorise her deputies to issue same-sex marriage licences.

After spending six days in jail for contempt of court after refusing to obey several orders instructing her to stop discriminating against gay couples, returns to work at Rowan County today.

She faces a challenge, however, if she wants to stop her deputies from issuing marriage licences to same-sex couples, as Brian Mason, one of the deputies, who have been ordered to issue marriage licences in Davis’ absence, said he would ignore her if she told him not to issue licences to gay couples.

She gave a garbled speech outside the court house today, saying she would not authorise her deputies to issue the licences, and that she would not allow them to, but said she would not begrudge them if they did, in order to avoid jail.

A lesbian couple married today despite Davis’ threats. The clerk reportedly stayed out of sight, but her supporters jeered at the couple as they applied for their licence.
