PinkNews takes a look at the Hollywood stars who openly support their LGBT brothers and sisters.

After revealing he is gay earlier this month, Desperate Housewives star Charlie Carver was quick to share his love for his straight brother Max.

The actor said his brother and co-star had shown him nothing but support since he told him he was gay and “is just as cool for being straight.”

Here, PinkNews takes a look at seven other celebrities who continue to show their love and support for their lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans brothers and sisters.

1. Colin Farrell

Before the marriage bill passed in Ireland last year, Colin released a heartfelt video urging people to support the bill – and his gay brother Eamon.

“The fact that my brother had to leave Ireland to have his dream of being married become real is insane. INSANE!”

2. Anne Hathaway

The Devil Wears Prada star grew up as a Catholic – but when her brother Michael told the family he was gay, they decided to leave their faith.

“The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out,” she said.

“Why should I support an organisation that has a limited view of my beloved brother?”

3. Chloe Grace Moretz

Moretz was 11 when her gay brothers, Trevor Duke-Moretz and Colin Moretz, came out.

“It was really hard to see my brothers be hated on or bullied, so I stood up for them,” the Kick-Ass star said.

“We shouldn’t be using these terms to create more labels and segregate us further apart than we already are.”

4. David Arquette

David repeatedly spoke of his love for his trans sister Alexis – who died tragically in 2016 at the age of 47.

“I grew up seeing how cruel people could be to someone trying to be true to themselves.”

Cyndi – a gay icon in her own right – says that she will always look out for her sister Elen.

“My sister is a lesbian, and she’s one of the most fantastic people I know. It’s a family issue.

“If you can’t vouch for people in your own family, who are you going to vouch for?”

6. Adam Levine

Levine has repeatedly hit out at those who see sexuality as a choice, defending his gay broth Michael.

“I can single-handedly dispel any ideas that sexuality is acquired. Trust me: you’re born with it,” the frontman said in 2011.

“My brother is gay, and we knew when he was 2. We all knew.”

7. Chis Evans

Captain America star Evans has spoken of his brother Scott’s “bravery” in coming out – and that his mother was disappointed that he wasn’t gay too!

“I was so glad that he did. That’s got to be a difficult transition, but I come from the most liberal household you have ever heard of.

“I think my mother was praying for [both of] us to be gay, so at least she got one of us.”
