Actress Sarah Paulson ā€“ currently starring as prosecutor Marcia Clark in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story ā€“ had some powerful things to say about her sexuality in a recent interview.

The American Horror Story stalwart opened up about her long rumoured relationship with fellow actress Holland Taylor ā€“ however, she declined to label her sexuality, saying she does not want be ā€œskeweredā€ by either community.

ā€œIf my life choices had to be predicated based on what was expected of me from a community on either side, thatā€™s going to make me feel really straitjacketed, and I donā€™t want to feel that,ā€ she told New York Times.

ā€œWhat I can say absolutely is that I am in love, and that person happens to be Holland Taylor.ā€

The women first met at a dinner party about a decade ago, when Paulson was dating actress Cherry Jones.

Nevertheless, she thought that Taylor was ā€œprobably the most exquisitely beautiful woman Iā€™d ever seen.ā€

After her seven-year relationship with Jones ended, Paulson and Taylor crossed paths once again whilst working for a charity.

They followed each other on Twitter, before agreeing to go for dinner. Over a year later, the pair are still together.

Taylor has described the relationship as ā€œthe most wonderful, extraordinary thing that could have ever possibly happened in my life.ā€

In December, the 72 year-old actress was also asked why it had taken her such a long time to come out as gay.

ā€œI havenā€™t come out because I am out,ā€ she replied. ā€œI live out.ā€

ā€œI feel at this point in the conversation it feels kind of awkward. Now I feel very very shy of it.

ā€œIā€™ve been really wrestling with this lately because most of my relationships have been with women and I donā€™t like talking about them because I donā€™t like talking about the politics of it all.

ā€œI think weā€™re ridiculous in this country (the US) about it. Ridiculous.ā€

Taylor has starred in a series of plays, films and TV shows, but is probably best known globally for her role as Charlie Sheenā€™s selfish mother on sitcom Two and a Half Men.
