Who is Michael Gunning? The Bi Life cast member and international swimmer

The Bi Life is E!’s own slice of dating show history, focusing exclusively on bisexual participants, but who is cast member Michael Gunning?
Yet another cast member who hails from Manchester, 24-year-old Michael is an international swimmer who formerly competed for Team GB. That all changed back in 2017, however, when Michael decided to switch over to the Jamaica national team. (He qualifies to do so thanks to his dad, Shaun, who was born in Jamaica).
Being a pro swimmer means Michael is no stranger to the limelight. Along with other members of the Team GB swim team, he counts Tom Daley as a good friend and is used to having the camera trained on him during high profile sporting events.
Focusing on his athletic career, however, has had an impact on his romantic life. Because of the commitment which the sport requires of him, Michael has never been in a relationship and, in fact, had never even been on a date before taking part in The Bi Life.

As someone who is completely new to the world of dating and relationships, Michael is keen to explore his sexuality and learn more about himself by taking part in the show.

He describes himself as “bubbly, happy and joyful,” and wants to meet someone similar. His ideal partner would be easygoing with an interest in athletics that matches Michael’s own love of competitive sport.
Michael has decided to take part in The Bi Life because “it is something I would never have dreamed I would ever have accepted in my lifetime, so it’s a risk, and it’s something exciting I thought I could do. I’m a swimmer and the only time a swimmer gets off is summertime so I thought, why not go on a show like this and live a little, and have fun this summer!”
